I'm currently 12 years old and in the 6th grade. My parents had me in the pool as an infant, and by the time I was 2, was able to swim a length of the pool without stopping or holding on to anything. I started on a summer league when I was 6 years old and loved every day of it. Practice was 2 hours a day, 5 days a week. The season lasted from mid-May through the end of July and when the season was over, I couldn't wait for next season to begin.

I was on that team for 3 summers, then found a team at the local YMCA that was all year. Practice was 1.5 hours / day, 5 days / week all year long. I felt as though I was going to another level. We competed with the other local area Y's, and most of them were the same teams we competed with when I was in the summer league. In addition, I was also able to compete in the YMCA state championships, and had the opportunity to qualify for YMCA Zones. This was a regional event, requiring a challenging qualifying time which I accomplished my last 2 years on the YMCA team.

During my last year on the YMCA team, one of the assistant coaches set us up to be able to compete on a USA swim team. It gave me the ability to compete against a larger group of swimmers and see just where I stood. I quickly saw that I needed to "up my game." I then found the Richmond extension of the Lexington Dolphins. I went to a couple of their practices just to observe. The practices were more intense. They were 2 hours long, 6 days a week. And during times such as Christmas break, we had a morning and afternoon practice each day. I joing this team in October of 2021, and within 3 months, noticed a significant improvement in both my times, and techniques.

Aside from swimming, I'm also a Boy Scout. My goal is to becoma an Eagle Scout and I already have several rank requirements met, and have earned several required and elective badges toward Eagle Scout rank. I have been in scouts since I was 6 years old
